Cape May Point - Wednesday, May 26 2010

What a difference a week makes! Gone were pretty much all of the migrants - though two fly-over Green Herons and a singing Blackpoll Warbler were enjoyed - to be replaced by much breeding activity. Highlights included a fired-up House Wren near his nest box, a Yellow-breasted Chat and a pair of Orchard Orioles showing nesting behavior and at least two pairs of Cedar Waxwings carrying twigs into the pines. An Eastern Wood-pewee was calling as if on territory too.
