Appalachian Bird Song Workshop, Day 2 - Saturday, May 29, 2010

100 species even were tabulated on this two day workshop, with great looks and great listening. Today's highlights included singing Winter Wren; excellent views of Hooded Warbler, Magnolia Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, sapsuckers, Scarlet Tanager, Yellow-throated Vireo, etc.; finishing our sweep of the breeding empids with an Alder at Van Ness Road and multiple cooperative Acadians in Stokes; flyover Broad-winged Hawks; hearing Chestnut-sided primary and alternate songs, Yellow, and Redstart all from one location at the same time; and the wonderful "mossy place" (Sawmill Hemlock Glen) and other great habitats in NJ's north.
