Turkey Point - Sunday, March 28 2010

Dave Lord et. al. report:

"Today's Turkey Point walk closed the 2010 season with memories of great birds and good times. A number of Harriers and a few perched Bald Eagles welcomed us at the road end, as did a fly-by Northern Shoveler and large flocks of Green Winged Teal. Common Mergansers were still lingering in the Maple Avenue impoundments, as were respectable views of Ruddy Ducks and an Opsrey having lunch. Hansey Creek had an onslaught of Golden-Crowned Kinglets, plus Eastern Bluebirds singing on the wing. The highlight of the walk would have to be the high tide at Hansey Creek that went across the road, and had Common Mergs diving...on the road itself!!."
