Birding the Meadows with Pete Dunne - Monday, July 21st, 2014

It was a a nice morning for birding. Waders in the ponds included Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Snowy Egret, and Glossy Ibis. On the beach we had many American Oystercatchers, and one Lesser Black-backed Gull. Among the numerous shorebirds were Spotted and Least Sandpiper, Lesser Yellowlegs, and Short-billed Dowitchers. Overhead were Purple Martins, Tree Swallows, Barn Swallows, plus an occasional Osprey. Passerines included Common Yellowthroat, Indigo Bunting, and Eastern Kingbird. Leaders: Pete Dunne, Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, Steve Weis, Janet Crawford, Mike Hannisian, Catherine Busch, Carrie Bell, and Mike McCabe.
