Northern
Flickers and Sharp-shinned Hawks filled the sky at Higbee today, along with a
few overhead surprises. Two Common Loons flew over, and one yellow-tinged bird
turned out to be a Meadowlark instead of the expected flicker. A Dickcissel
gave its rough, raspy call overhead as well. On the ground we had some
lingering Indigo Buntings, a few Palm Warblers and a White-crowned Sparrow.
