Birding Cape May Point - Saturday, March 9, 2019

It wasn't the cacophony of a spring dawn chorus this morning as we headed out across the Park but neither was it the stillness of winter. Red-winged Blackbirds are practicing the songs and whistles they'll use to defend their territories, American Wigeon are giving their wheezing whistles on the ponds, Northern Cardinals were in full-throated song, and killdeer "deered" from the parking lot. Winter is on its way out.
