Birding Cape May Point - Saturday, January 12th, 2019

It was really hard to count the ducks today because they were huddled closely together in tight groups seeking shelter from the wind. But en masse like that, in the morning sun, they looked especially beautiful, with highlights of green and rust. The Belted Kingfisher that perched along Lake Lily still has lots of open water in which to fish but may regret his decision not to migrate later this weekend as the cold continues.
