Cox Hall Creek (Villas) WMA - Sunday, November 6th 2011

The Cox Hall Creek WMA is currently hosting a good variety of late-season migrants.  A juvenile Red-headed Woodpecker allowed lingering views. Five Great Blue Herons lifted from the ponds with four of them then decorating treetops. The Bluebird flock has greatly expanded in number, while  Song, Swamp, Chipping & Field Sparrows flit among the grasses. Also seen: Eastern Towhee, Palm & Yellow-rumped Warblers, Brown Creeper, Eastern Phoebe, Ruby-crowned & Golden-crowned Kinglets, perched Cooper's Hawk.
