Peaslee WMA - Wednesday, April 7 2010

Dave Lord et. al. report:

"The first Peaslee's WMA was very "warblery" for this time of year. Pine Warblers were conspicous hawking insects off pines, while Yellow-Throated Warblers sang with gusto in the background. A Black-and-White Warbler taunted us by singing so close it sounded like we could touch it, but never showed, and Karen Johnson heard Common Yellowthroat at the intersection of Dam Rd. and Rt. 49. Other highlights include 3 male Wood Ducks swimming in Tarkiln, along with 15 or so Ring Neckeds. An adult Bald Eagle was seen, and Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers were common. We took a side-trip to the Paper Mill Road Sod Farm to find the 8 Pectoral Sandpipers reported there earlier, with sucess."
