Birding at Garrett Family Preserve - Saturday, June 16th, 2018

Birding at the Garret Family preserve has been a wonderful addition to the CMBO Spring Walk schedule. Now, late in the season, the breeders are busy. Anywhere on the property, you hear the chatter of chats and frequently see them sitting atop the cedars, with seemingly no regrets about being kicked out of the warbler family. ðŸ˜€  Indigo Buntings, Blue Grosbeaks, Orchard Orioles, Common Yellow-throats, Willow Flycatchers and Eastern Kingbirds are all taking advantage of the great habitat here.

ReTURN the Favor Public Walk - Saturday, June 9, 2018

Nice walk on the beach. Live crabs were few, but we were able to turn 11 males
and 3 females, one of which was impinged by the bulkhead. We unfortunately found 2 dead terrapin turtles, and a blowfish carcass.

We witnessed a kleptoparacitic episode between an osprey and a 3rd-year bald eagle. The eagle won the fish!
