Cox Hall Creek WMA - Sunday, May 8th, 2016

We knew it was going to be a good day when a singing Scarlet Tanager greeted us in the parking lot. Warblers were a highlight in the woods and a Black-throated Blue Warbler and Northern Parulas were particularly cooperative as they came through in a mixed migrant flock that also included 10 other warbler species and another brilliant Scarlet Tanager. A Northern Waterthrush sang persistently and just as persistently, hid from view. Leaders: Kathy Horn, Shaun Bamford, Deb Payson, and Janet Crawford.
