Cox Hall Creek WMA - Sunday, September 7th, 2014

Migration marches on. In addition to the American Redstart, Yellow, Black-and-white, and Prairie Warblers that have been common migrants these last few weeks, today we had a hint of the next wave with a Western Palm Warbler. An early spring, but late fall migrant in the East, Palm Warblers will be coming through in large numbers throughout the next several weeks. We'll see both Eastern (yellow) Palms and Western (drabber) Palms but both retain their yellow undertail coverts and both frequently pump those tails. Leaders: Kathy & Roger Horn, Shaun & Cindy Bamford, Deb Payson, and Joe Demko.
