Birding the Meadows with Pete Dunne - Monday, June 23rd, 2014

Again good birds at the parking lot, with scope views of Indigo Bunting, Blue Grosbeak, and Eastern Kingbird. Also fly-by Glossy Ibis, Snowy Egret, and Orchard Oriole. Lots of Eastern Willets flying and calling, as well as two Willet chicks on the mud flats. The beach had two families of American Oystercatchers, one with two several-week-old youngsters, and one with at least one very young chick. The beach also held three Lesser Black-backed Gulls. Leaders: Pete Dunne, Karl Lukens, Steve Weis, Catherine Busch, and Carrie Bell.
