Spring Migrants at the Rea Farm - Saturday, April 12th, 2014

It was a nice morning with no need for winter clothes. A few new birds for the year were seen including three Eastern Meadowlarks (2 fly-overs, 1 perched at the end of the walk), and an early Prothonotary Warbler in the back field along the water at Pond Creek Farm. We had four Black-crowned Night-Herons in the Willow Pond and a brief look as two Wood Ducks flew out. Also nice looks at very yellow Palm Warblers and 2 mating Killdeer!  Leaders: Karl Lukens, Catherine Busch, and Chris Marks.
