Birding the Meadows with Pete Dunne - Monday, April 14th, 2014

Numbers and variety of ducks are diminishing with Mallard, Gadwall and Northern Shovelers most common. A pair of Blue-winged Teal gave nice scope views. Off-shore, scoters, loons and Northern Gannets were seen. A few shorebirds were seen including Short-billed Dowitcher, Killdeer, American Oystercatchers, and Greater Yellowlegs. Waders included one Snowy Egret and a couple of Great Egrets--the latter in high breeding plumage with bright green lores.  Leaders: Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, Catherine Busch, Chris Marks, Marc & Lynn Breslow, and Nancy Watson.
